Mooltan Guest House..........

Situated at Hepburn Springs, in Victoria, the Mooltan Guest House is fully decorated in Edwardian style. The building itself was built in 1924, set on an acre of fine gardens and lawns. wpe39.jpg (19131 bytes)Mooltan is set up to provide a relaxing environment, making use of the surrounding bush, native animals, waterfalls as well as local sights, such as the Convent Gallery. Open fires, gazebos and spacious verandahs add a hearty feel to the Mooltan Guest House.

The Mooltan Guest House offers all the 'norms' of a Bed and Breakfast establishment, they serve traditional English breakfasts, the rooms, which are individually decorated, have brass beds, and open out onto sprawling verandahs.

By the description, and picture above, it can be said that Australian Bed and Breakfast establishments do not differ all that much from the rest of the world. In terms of facilities and looks, Bed and Breakfasts are universally similar.

Is it an instinct that draws people toward places of rest like BarbaraAnne's, is it the same motivation that drove travellers thousands of years ago, or is it the thirst for experiencing something different from the ordinary? Perhaps it is a bit of both. But it is a certainty that the trend for the future of accommodation is moving toward this type of stay. BarbaraAnne's Luxury Cottages are traditional in their style, but offer the facilities and feel of the modern day traveller's demands.

Abergeldie.......

Built around the 1860's, Abergeldie is a Victorian homestead, which is all elegance, as the owners describe. a1.jpg (13749 bytes)Abergeldie is a working sheep, cattle and crop property, in the central highlands of Victoria. Unlike most Bed and Breakfasts, Abergeldie is also a Farmstay, offering the different perspective that many travellers are looking for these days.

Abergeldie has seven rooms, overlooking either a courtyard, or garden views, all filled with antiques, and having open fires. The English influence can be seen in places like Abergeldie, as with many of the other Bed and Breakfasts in Australia and abroad.

The Farmstay at Abergeldie is separate to the usual Bed and Breakfast, and of course offers a different range of services.
