A Different Perspective.
Looking to stay in a Bed and Breakfast for your next weekend getaway??? Look no further..............the Website that shows you B & B's in Europe, USA and Australia.
Introduction to the 'Bed and Breakfast' Bed and breakfast inns are a universal concept, dating from the 1950's onwards. Bed and Breakfast Inns range in tastes, many of them are fitted out, as a model from an originally archiectured building. The theme is carried out throughout the building, from the outer walls and fascias, to the smallest of detail, like tap fitings and door handles. Others, in modern-day keeping, have an eco-tourism feel, and are set amongst the trees, for a true back-to-nature feel. The ultimate purpose for a Bed and Breakfast Inn was as a stop over on long coach trips, mainly in rural, isolated parts of country. The issue of transport will be broached later on, and also how this relates to the growth of Bed and Breakfast establishments. In the following pages, Bed and Breakfasts in Europe, USA and Australia will be looked at. Also, how they have changed, and what the main themes are.
The Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast Inn . . . . .
The picture below shows the exterior of the Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast Inn. This is situated in Denver, Colorado, and was the first urban bed and breakfast inn in that region. The time theme is the 1800's, and is modelled around the era, and carries the theme right through. Having a total of 14 rooms, four are gallery suites named after famous artists of the bygone era. There are two Victorian gardens, in keeping with the feel of the place. This Bed and Breakfast is classical of what many Bed and Breakfasts look like, and not just in the US, but all around the world.
The Atwood House Bed and Breakfast.........
In Nebraska, the Atwood House Bed and Breakfast also has a history to it. The Atwood House was originally a 1894 Neoclassical Georgian mansion, it is decorated throughout with Victorian antiques. In keeping with the exquisite nature of the place, the Atwood House serves their guests with fine bone china and Waterford crystal. It is typical of Bed and Breakfasts to take up a relevant theme and carry it through the whole establishment.
On the left, the illustration shows the grand nature of the Atwood House building. The centre picture shows how the grand theme of the Atwood House is brought inside in minute detail, this here is the parlour. On the right, the grand staircase is a main feature feature of the Atwood House, and very in keeping with the look of the era.
